Replace shifter cable

How to replace ford f150 gear shift cable

A sticking 1/2 shift accumulator or broken spring in the 1/2 shift accumulator.

crawl back under veh have somone shift trans with wheels blocked engine off look to see if shifter is still connected to trans. if is look too see if moves linkage all through ranghes to low .if it does remove trans pan too see if it moves inside trans.let me know ,,, If you took it to a shop thats were they would start.

You most likely have a broken "Detent Spring", usually located in the top
shifter cover of the transmission. Pull up the carpet, revealing the cover
on the floorboards. Take that off, slide it up the lever, to see the top cover of
the trans. If you can see the bolts that hold it on, clean off the dirt so it
won't fall inside, and remove it. The spring is usually located in the cover.
This all depends....on the type of tranny.

This happen to my aunts GMC yukon at I hop and the solution was a cable under the truck was disconnected and just needed to be reconnected.

hi.t thing to do firstly is check your fuses under bonnet and then check the fuses inside the car which are mostly under the dashboard and are easy to get to.
It could be that one of your other fuses has blown and caused this to short circuit.
Check all the fuses throughout and if they are all ok except the one that lights up the gears your in,then change that one.
It might not be that the bulb has blown at all.
If this all fails, then you will have to go through the process of taking out the centre concule which is or should only be clipped into place by self tapping screws which should just pop out with a flat ended screw driver and are easy to push back into place with your thumb.
Hope this has helped.
