Connect a Sharp TV to Sharp sound bar

I just bought a Sharp HT-SB40 and an trying to connect is to my Sharp Aquos LC-42d64u. I don't believe the TV has "arc" which sounds like an easier connection. I have an HDMI cable. I'm not sure what to do to connect it to my TV. Please help. Thanks! Greg

Call a local custom audio/video installer that can help you for a small fee. It's okay to pay a professional and get the right help. It shouldn't cost you more than $50 at most, but probably half that amount since it's a very simple connection.

Here's a couple of weblinks that may be helpful...

On the Vaio:
right click volume on system tray and select playback devices
select hdmi/ sdip as default and then in the properties deselect dolby

If you don't have those options you may need new drivers installed on your Vaio. Do you have windows xp? The driver can be found here: support.vaio.sony.co.uk/downloads/info/info.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons&url=Vaio/Original/AR2_Drivers.zip&ip=RAID_AR21.htm

If you have vista the driver can be found here:
support.vaio.sony.ie/downloads/updates/updates.asp?site=voe_en_IE_cons&c=0&s=VGN-AR&m=2418&os=7&osl=1

On the television make sure you are on the right input. Press menu--setup--hdmi setup--audio select--digital

Hope this helps
