Does anyone know how to remove the top cover of the LG wm-2277 hw after the screws are removed from the back ? Have a water leak up toward the top of machine but cannot reach without removing the top . There is one solution to the same problem but it only mentions the problem but does not give a how to do ...

We had the OE message come up and did the above procedures...that didn't fix it. I removed the dual pump modules (they come off in one piece...one is the recirculating pump, the other is the drain pump). Turns out, the drain pump impeller design sucks. Even though it turned when I put power to the pump, that doesn't mean your pump isn't bad. Once it is under load pumping water, the impeller can slip where the pin connects to it from the motor. We replaced the motor for $60 and that fixed the problem. Our unit is at least three years old and we have a family of four, so it does get used quite often. Nobody told us about the filter at the bottom of the unit and I figure if we knew this ahead of time, we probably could have avoided the impeller issue...but it is still a sub-par designed motor/impeller. The new one I ordered looks like an updated design so I don't see this happening again. It is quite easy to remove and replace the pump, btw.

I have exactly the same problem. The motor is covered by a 3 year warranty. You'll have to pay for labour. I will not buy any LG product in the future. Its junk.
Technician said the motor requires replacing. I believe its a computer module error. Some people were advised to unplug the machine for 2 hours and allow the computer to reboot! This does not sound like a mechanical issue. Whatever it is the machine is poorly developed and completely overpriced. Customer service is non-existent. Website is cumbersome and unhelpful. looks like a money grab to me by Lucky Goldstar (yes, LG is the new name for Goldstar, a low end appliance manufacturer of the past)

Error Code "de" is for "door switch assembly faulty".

Have fun!

Disconnect the LG front load washer power cord from the wall outlet. Turn off the water supply to the washer at the water spigots coming from the wall.

Pull the washer 3 feet away from the wall, and disconnect the water supply hoses from the water inlet valve ports on the back of the washer. You may need a pair of channel lock pliers to loosen the hose connections.

Remove the screws securing the back of the top panel to the back of the washer with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Depending upon your model, you will have either two or four screws to remove.

Lift the back of the top panel up, and slide the top panel toward the rear wall, which will unhook the top panel from the clips securing the panel in the front of the washer. Lift the top panel off the washer and out of your working area.
