there is a heater in the base of the dishwasher . It could be this is faulty as you can still use the machine .
It does'nt matter that you have connected it to the cold water tap the machie should heat up the water it self.this is'nt a job you can do your self so you will have to call out an engineer sorry

Hello, welcome to Fixya. The problem you're describing is unfortunately a common one with B/S/H/ built dishwasher's. That includes Bosch, Thermador, Siemens, and Gaggenau. Here`s the most likely reason why it has detected the error... Even if your home water supply appears hot, it's not hot enough and must be heated by the dishwasher to insure a proper clean and dry. Most if not all manufacturer`s do this. When it comes to your Bosch dishwasher the problem likely lye`s within`the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ). This is why it runs forever unless pressing the two buttons for "cancel". To repair your unit It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board. This will be one of the pins from the heater relay, hence the unit sit`s just running on & on because it can`t heat to advance or until canceled. **Further to this, if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on their behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)** **Please disconnect the power before attempting any service to the dishwasher** Installing a new control will certainly remedy the problem as well but since it is typically around $170 and up just for the part, I am more likely to offer someone an alternative to buying new, hence my first reaction to mention this repair tidbit. The control is available at most brick & mortar appliance parts stores or on-line at vendors such as "repairclinic.com", "apwagner.com", "searspartsdirect.com" etc. part number is based on your specific model number so you`ll need to provide that. Hope this answer`s your question's, let me know if I can assist you further. Thank`s for visiting "fixya" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness to you and leave a testimony if you're satisfied. Good luck. macmarkus :)

first make sure the hoses aren't reversed hot on cold or cold on hot next turn off cold water remove the hose from the washer and check to see if the screen on the washer is clogged if not get a bucket turn on cold water and see how strong the water is then let me know what you find dont rate me till we are done

The problem is one of two parts. One is your water temperature switch or your hot water solinoid. To get to the back you must remove the hex screws on the back and then the panel is removeable.

If the machine has only 1 fill hose, I would connect it to the cold tap. If you connect to hot only, the machine goes through its cycle too fast and wont wash as good. The machine stays on a wash cycle until it heats up the water. If you connect to hot water, it will do a shorter wash because it doesn't have to heat the water up as much. The shorter wash time, decreases how good the wash result is.
