I have a Samsung 55inch TV model PN50A510P3F. The TV has power but when I turn it on, it take at least 30 minutes to come on. It keeps powering itself on and off until it gets a clear picture.

Hi...

Main power supply is overheating. Try getting it dusted out first then check into getting it serviced

If the service shops didn't charge people $200 to fix this I would not post.. But since they do - here's the $8 fix.

If you are electronically inclined, replace the three 1000uf 16v electrolytic capacitors in the power supply board located above the power switch. They are likely bulging out at the top and failed. They are the three in a row at the top - center of the board, located between the two black heat sinks. Make sure you get caps rated for 105c degrees! I recommend replacing them with 1000uf 25v caps. 35v caps will work but might be a tight fit as they are larger diameter.

Should cost you about $8 for the parts shipped. You can get them from partsexpress or digikey or any good local electronics store. Your local radio shack may have them but they won'y be 105c and thus may not last long.

Not handy, ask around, there is usually some electronic tweaker guy around that will install them for a few bucks.

This has solved the turns on / then off problem every time in the 3 I've done.

Replace the Lamp P/N 915PO20010 if it has never been replaced.
Mats Electronics has them for $99.00 1-800-628-1118

Hi, this is quite a common problem for plasma screens and LCD screens. The fluroscent backlight is more than likely faulty and would need replacing. The best thing to do is to take it to a service centre because there are no user servicable parts inside the plasma.

frist you need to check the fuse it is inside of tv by the power cord looks like this maybe a Panasonic tv did notsee any model number so i will gess as to what is wrong check fuse if blown need to replace with a white glass looking fuse of same value like i said dont know what model number this set is but the thermister could be at falt for the fuse to blow.
